To shorten the wait for the 14th ThGOT and the 6th Optics Colloquium we would like to give you a small foretaste of our numerous exciting technical presentations in the coming weeks.
Ultra-thin transparent layers for surface hydrophobization
Dr. Tina Tölke / INNOVENT e. V. - Surface Technology, Jena
A wet-chemical process can be used to produce extremely thin, transparent coatings that can be used for a wide range of applications. Advantages of the method are simple application and stable bonding to the substrate without post-treatment. Depending on the substrate material, however, appropriate pretreatment may be necessary.
The coated substrates exhibit water contact angles > 100°. The surfaces show improved sliding friction properties. Potential applications are e.g. the equipment of syringe bodies, which are currently provided with siliconization as standard.
This talk will be presented at 3:40 p.m. on March 13, 2019, in SESSION B: NEW TRENDS IN SURFACE TECHNOLOGY.
