Innovative surface technologies for cultural assets

Lecture tip: Invisible- Permanent- Effective
Dr. Mark Wehner, MW-Protect GmbH, Wiesbaden, Germany

Abstracts:
Water is the main cause of damage to cultural assets such as statues, churches and historic buildings. In addition, graffiti, especially on gravestones, is another problem.
The transparent, permanent coating MW-Protect MMC provides lasting protection for the surface of porous building materials without changing the building physics. In particular, the important diffusion properties are preserved. Monuments, buildings and even floors are thus sustainably protected. Particularly in large cities where soiling, including graffiti, is an extremely time-consuming and labor-intensive burden for the owners, the application results in considerable cost advantages. The protective coating can reduce the cost of graffiti removal by at least 50%. Expensive renovations or even the still common sandblasting can thus be avoided.
MW-Protect® MMC has already successfully proven its advantages as a transparent, permanent anti-graffiti coating in practice.
